Goodbye, Lilly!

I just sold Lilly! :(

Aww I miss her already!  But I don't live here in Sweden anymore, so it's good she's got a new caring home. And they said they wanted to buy a male lizard too, which means Lilly won't be alone. She's a widow since Lotus died, so it's time she starts dating again! It's sad to give her up, but it's for the best. I'm sure they will take really good care of her! :)

And a plus is that I'm a tiny bit richer, lol.

I remember this one time when I had been on the phone for hours, and then went to my room to go to bed in the middle of the night. I saw something that looked like Lilly on the floor next to my bed, and I was like "no it can't be", but I looked closer and "OMG IT'S LILLY!". Apparantly my dad had forgotten to close the door to the terrarium after feeding her, and she had escaped, fallen ~1m to the floor (luckily she didn't get hurt because lizards' bones are very soft) and went into my room. Almost like she knew I would find her there. :)

Early Halloween plans

Gooooood evening! :) Right now I'm watching Family guy, and thinking that I need to buy a new red lipstick and red nail polish! Why? Well for my Halloween costume! lol Mads and I are throwing a party (for his friends that I don't know), and since I love dressing up it'll be awesome :D

Random old picture

I'm going to be a cop for Halloween, and of course Mads has to match me so he'll be a criminal! haha Ooops, did I spoil it? Should've been a secret, but whatever. :P Everyone reading this will probably either not care or forget it before it's Halloween! So it's all good!

Last year I went as Little red riding hood, although it wasn't a real Halloween party... But I've always wanted a Halloween party where everyone wears a costume, so this year will hopefully be the year!

I want some Swedish friends to come, but they're probably too boring... sadly enough. That's something I dislike about Swedes in general - they're not very spontaneous.

Ok, enough Halloween talk - it's not even October! This evening I'm going to watch a documentary about the worst plastic surgeries ever! Will be interesting, I love documentaries! hehehe

How to date a Swede

This post is written for fun about Swedish girls and does not apply to everyone. I do not write about how to date a Swedish guy, because I honestly have no idea how to. I tend to go for non-Swedish guys, lol.

So, as you all know, all Swedes are amazing and everybody wants to date them... ok, not really (although we do have a tribute song about us, by Mikey Mic, called "Swedish girls"). But if you do have a Swedish exchange student at school or maybe a Swede just moved to the neighborhood, and you're just dying to take her out, there are a few things you should know. So now people, I bring to you...

Oh yeah, I just had to add an ego pic in there! Woohoooo!

So let's begin.

If you're one of those say-whatever's-on-your-mind-people, who simply start flirting by saying "hey hot stuff", etc., I can tell you straight away that you're going to fail miserably (well unless she's at a nightclub - drunk). The best way to start a conversation is to talk about something you have in common. If you go to school together, talk about that very interesting lecture, or that horrible teacher who spits when he talks. If she's your neighbor, ask what she thinks of the neighborhood. If she's a complete stranger, but you just happen to know she's Swedish, well then you have to improvise.

Do not start a conversation about something completely random. In Sweden we have this unwritten social rule that says you cannot talk to strangers as if they were your friends. You always have to have something in common.

The conversation:
You have to know that Swedes are very openminded, but have strong opinions. For your first real conversation you should probably not talk about politics, religion, or anything else you will presumably disagree on (the majority of Swedes are atheists/agnostics). So basically, if you can't handle a strong-minded woman, don't even bother dating a Swede.

If you want to talk about Sweden, you better know quite a lot to impress her, or else you will most likely look stupid in her eyes (because in our eyes everyone should know stuff about our country!). Most Swedes are very patriotic, and proud to be Swedish. From experience, if you're American, for the love of God - do not confuse Sweden with Switzerland! Also, do not compare Swedish to German. No explanation needed :)

If you're not the smartest person alive, don't show it! Talk about things you are comfortable with and don't try to show off if you're not sure of what you're saying. Swedes are well-educated and do not care for ignorant people who don't know anything about the rest of the world.

Keeping in touch:
Once you have found that pretty Swede who's also an interesting conversationer, you will want to have her phone number to keep in touch. It doesn't matter if your first meeting was a date or not, never wait three days to contact her! You will have to contact her the next day - or even the same evening! Swedes love attention and affection, and you will need to show her that.

You probaly shouldn't call her, but text her instead. For some reason Swedes prefer texting over calling, maybe because it's faster, and maybe because it's not as personal (yes, Swedes don't easily open up to strangers/new people). Although you should not be too intrusive and in her face, she will need space. You should show interest, but also let her contact you sometimes.

What to do for your date:
Sweden does not have a dating culture, and therefore it might seem weird to some to go to dinner with a stranger, or someone you don't really know. Something we do like though, is going for fika. Fika is basically going to a café, for coffee and/or pastry. If you want to totally charm her, ask: "Vill du (ta en) fika?" ("Do you want to fika?"), and I promise you she will smile/laugh, in a good way... if you get it right, that is.

How to dress and behave:
If you're going on a date with the girl, there are some things you will need to know: Swedes are a bunch of fashionistas, even the men. You will need to dress up and know what's in right now. I myself, like many other women, am not a big fan of the male fashion addicts, but you will still need to dress well for your date with the wonderful Swedish girl. Do not look like you just came from a wedding, and especially not like you're wearing the outfit you wore for the gamer night you had with your friends - last weekend. Balance the casual and formal style, and you are bound to succeed.

Obviously you should be well behaved, but that's something you should always be, not just on dates. Gentlemen are always appreciated, but with Swedes they are not just appreciated, they are also expected. You should offer to pay for dinner (or whatever you decided to do for your date/meeting). Even if she says it's ok and she can pay it herself, do not let her! Yes, we are independent women, but we do like being treated to dinner, like everyone else.

You probably shouldn't comment on her accent - we are Swedish (English [if that's what you're speaking] is not our native language) and we know we have an accent, no need to remind us! Sometimes even things like "I love your accent!" or "your accent is so cute!" can be annoying to hear. But only somtimes.

I'm sure all of you guys are wondering "is it ok to kiss on the first date?", and sure it is! Go for it! Some people, like myself, think it shows that the guys isn't really serious in getting to know the girl, but others don't care. So if it's worth it for you, take a chance and go for it.

Focus on what you have in common when starting a conversation, and don't talk about things like religion, unless you are aware of her opinions. Dress well, behave well, be funny, be nice, and make sure to text her! Always treat her like the strong woman she is, and please, know your stuff about Sweden!

Good luck! ;)

Parken Zoo

I went to the zoo today with my family! I took a lot of pictures, but I'll only show you some of them (would be too many otherwise). The park is in a city nearby, and I loved how colorful it was!

The adventure started with kangaroos!

My sister and I also wanted to be kangaroos. What do you think? :D

Brother, me, sister, posing in front of the monkeys.

Posing with the pretty pink (and white) flamingos.

There were baby lions! Soooo adorable! I wanted one! xD

Outside the park there are these statues of famous Swedes, which we of course had to pose with.
(Why is my sister killing the statue-baby? lol)

It was a fun day! but I'm extremely tired now... Talked to Lina about doing something this evening, but we will see... Now I'm going to have dinner. Have a nice evening, everybody! :)

'Cause I'm a blonde

Hello everyone! Hope you're all having a good day! Mine is... ok. I really felt like going out today, hangout with friends and meet new people.. but it's only Thursday and I have a headache.. :( I dressed up anyway, but the curls on one side = FAIL!! Aww I don't know what happened... Evil hair.
I don't really have anything else to add, since I have to go to dinner now. My ego pics will have to be enough ;D lol

Today's quote: "Us girls shouldn’t be the ones watching romantic movies, it only makes our standards too high. Guys should be the ones to watch them, so that we never have to get disappointed."

Gyaru inspiration: Arisa Kamada

Arisa, Arichan, is a Ranzuki model, and a very cute one - with gorgeous makeup! She's a year younger than me (she's born 1992), but I actually think she looks a lot younger in the magazine. I suppose that's because she's only 153cm/~'5"0,5 tall, and because her style is mostly amekaji.

Anyhow, her gray smokey eye makeup looks awesome, and makes me regret not bringing more than 3 sets of falsies to Sweden, lol. Buuut I like her with light caramel colored hair. :)

Sadly enough, I have no idea what her blog address is...
Does anyone know?

When life gets too much

Cheering myself up

Hi everybody! So I went to the rheumatologist, and after a long examination, he said he couldn't diagnose me because I'm not in pain right now. My mom was really happy I didn't get diagnosed, but I, on the other hand, know there's something wrong! So not knowing what it is just sucks. The doctor said I should come back if it gets really bad again (so typical doctors - wait until it's acute/you're dying [I'm exaggerating]). We will see...

Found this on we♥it, and it's hilarious! xD Hope no one is offended by the n-word, but Harry's face in this makes me laugh every time! LOL. (and no, I'm not a Harry Potter fan). I just love Snape pictures! Here's one more:

Okay... Have a nice day :)

Kulturnatten 2011

Yay! So yesterday was kulturnatten, the cultural event happening once a year here in Västerås (and in some other "big" cities in Sweden as well). I was there with my darling Lina, whom I haven't met in a month or something!! :O  but I'm not sure if she wants me to upload a picture of us, so I'll just show you a picture of myself, lol:

We went to a park to watch a live band. No idea what they're called, but they were ok...
They played rock music, but the singer wasn't too great, haha. We left while they were playing the second song. You can't tell by the pictures, but there were A LOT of people out! Awesome! :D

After watching a bit of the concert we walked around to see more, but after a while, my little brother called and said he didn't feel too well. We met up with him and danced and sang for him, while he was resting on a bench. I'm not sure he appreciated our performance, LOL, but it was fun! And apparantly it made him feel better because he called his friends and went to meet up with them again. That didn't stop Lina and me from continuing singing though! We walked around the centre singing old classics (note: I hate singing in front of people - but this was fun)!

Brother and I:
I look very pale, but I blame the flash x)

Oh and there was a big finish around midnight - fireworks!

When I got home, I was sooo cold! I was gonna wash my hands (because you should always do that when you've been out), but I couldn't feel if the water was freezing cold or extremely hot! Felt like both at once. Maybe I should've brought gloves with me - it was only 9 degrees C!

Ooooh and I have a "creepy people"-story! When I was walking down to the centre, I met this 40+ old man who looked at me funny, but I didn't really think about it more. When I passed by him, he stopped and said "hej (hello)", so I stopped as well and said "hej...", because I thought he might want to ask something. BUT he just stood there and stared at me - creepy max! xD

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, and enjoy your Sunday!

Addicted to pink

Good morning my lovely readers! :) Right now I'm watching a criminal documentary with my sister - extremely interesting and horrible, so I'll keep this post short.

It's funny people unfollow me because I said I would stop using falsies everyday. Falsies are still a part of my life, but doesn't define me or my life. Not like you read a blog because of girl's false lashes, or a cute necklace she has. Or do you?

Here's btw my new deskop background:
with pictures from we♥ (oh yes, I'm an addict)
