Disney: English vs Swedish

I mentioned before how I find the Swedish versions of Disney movies much better than the original (possibly because I grew up with them)... and well, here are examples for you with two of my favorite songs from Disney movies! Which version is better?

I love the ending of this song sooo much in the Swedish version, he has such a soft yet powerful voice!  - perfect for the character ^^

What do you think? Ok, I'm assuming most of you don't understand Swedish, but if you only think about the voices and not the languages... Which do you prefer? My vote is (obviously) for the Swedish versions!

Yeah, I have to agree with you. Even though I don't understand Swedish, it's quite obvious that the Swedish versions are a lot better! For the Hunchback, the Swedish voice actor has a much suitable voice for the character. When compared to the English version, it makes the english one sound terrible haha. And in Hercules, the Swedish singing sounds a lot sweeter which suits the character's personality well.

I prefer most of the Danish versions over the original English ones as well.. Maybe you're right - it's because we grew up with them O_x I dunno.

In reply to your comment: EEEK that's so awesome! : D Are you gonna live with Mads? I think I heard of Nærum somewhere. Don't really know where it is. Will you be attending school in Copenhagen or Nærum? : D I hope you find something great that you want to study. I move out tomorrow mornin! *faints* EEEEEK

Honestly baby, it probably has a lot to do with what you grew up with, because then that's what sounds "right" to you... Like I grew up with the english versions, which I think sound better because I feel that those voices suit the characters better :) So I think it's really just what you're used to :p

Could be, but a lot of English speaking people prefer the Swedish versions as well. I like them, not only because i grew up with them, but also because they're better singers with a lot more powerful voices!

I obviously prefer the English ones growing up on them! But I can say that the Swedish version vocal actors have such similar voices so it works well!! I think the only voice I didn't like in the videos was the bad guy from Quasimodo! He just sounded really odd and didn't fit as well

You mean Frollo? I think his voice is better in swedish (although it's a very.. umm strange voice) because he sounds a lot more EVIL! xD hahaha

I can understand a bit what you mean. I like the German versions aswell. Each language has its character and sound. When I visited a friend in swedish, i think it sounds so good when he talks swedish coz it sound so strong and manly haha xD

Manly? xD i would say german is a more "manly" language than swedish.. i mean, people always say it sounds like we're singing when we talk, hahaha :P

well well when he talked german, it sounded gay coz it was like with french accent. so swedish would be best for him^^
